Introduction - Description of the Association

"Our lips, our teeth, our mouth are an important part of our body, our frame of mind and our life. We use the mouth as a tool of speech. With the mouth we express tenderness, love, happiness, joy, fear, anger or sadness. It serves to ingest food and is therefore of essential importance for our life. All this we know..."

(altered excerpt from Harold Wirth/Donald H. Masters)

... however, only regular rows of teeth (without gaps, with no scarcity of space and without tilted or rotated teeth) and correctly interlocking arches of the upper and lower jaw will ensure smoothly functioning, healthy and an esthetically appealing dentition.

This is the goal we work for

We, committed dentists from all over Austria, who completed their medical and dentistry school and then voluntarily underwent intensive training in orthodontics abroad, for the benefit of patients.

Two years ago we formed the Association of Austrian Orthodontists (Verband Österreichischer Kieferorthopäden; VÖK) in order to prove, in the course of Europe's fusion, that in spite of the absence of standardized, government-regulated advanced training at the University level in Austria, highly qualified orthodontic treatment is carried out in this country in accordance with the current state of the science.

Therefore, only persons who voluntarily undergo the examination of the Association of Austrian Orthodontists in accordance with the Association's inclusion criteria and is willing to prove his qualification for being a member can become a regular member of the Association (refer to the Statutes or the ABO - Austrian Board of Orthodontists).
